It is likely that you will have to come back for more than one treatment. Additional visits should be scheduled no sooner months from the last treatment. Keep in mind that in many cases the tattoo may fade unevenly. Be prepared for the initial color intensity of your procedure to be significantly brighter or darker, you will also notice it may appear very purple, blue, or red immediately after the procedure.

This should fade as it heals. Depending on the tattoo, the area may darken before it fades. It will take time for this transition based upon how the tattoo was applied, what it was applied with, and your own natural healing.

NOTE: The outcome of tattoo lightening procedures is dictated by the canvas your skin as well as the implementation process and materials used in the original tattoo. Clients should have realistic expectations as DermaHealth may not be able to achieve the desired results for tattoo lightening.

Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it is best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedure. It is always best to avoid these procedures within months prior to important life events such as weddings. Procedures may take longer than expected to be complete under some circumstances. Wear your normal make up or bring your brow pencils to your consult, but you do not have to for your procedure.

Please do not wear mascara to an eyeliner procedure. Any tweezing or waxing should be done at least 48 hours prior to the procedure; electrolysis no less than 5 days before. Do not resume ANY method of hair removal for at least two weeks. Any eyelash or eyebrow tinting or eyelash curling should be done no sooner than 48 hours before, or two weeks after the procedure.

DO NOT wear contact lenses during or within 48 hours following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition. Following the eyeliner procedures, as a safety precaution, we recommend that you have someone available to accompany you or drive you home.

Refrain from the use of alcohol, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications for seven days before and two days after any procedure. Refrain from judgment-altering drugs for at least 24 hours prior to any procedure. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician. A skin test is offered upon request. Ice packs protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling.

Sleeping slightly elevated helps alleviate swelling sometimes seen in the morning after facial procedures. Do not use ice packs on lip procedures.

Wash your hands before touching any treated area. Cotton-tipped applicators may be used to gently cleanse the eye area. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.

To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. Moisturize and hydrate Days Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of Tina Davies Aftercare 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.

Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color. No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days, Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area. DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.

Important Instructions for Showering Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Your face should only be getting wet only at the end of the shower.

Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. Wet V. Dry Healing This is where things get misconstrued. For the first days, the color is darker than it will appear when healed.

The eyelids are swollen for a few hours after waking up, and your makeup will still look heavy. Swelling decreases but is not gone entirely. There is a tight feeling to your treated area. The top layers of skin begin to lift away. The soreness will become less as the treated area begins to exfoliate.

A rough texture appears on the skin. There is a pinching feeling to your treated area. Some itching is normal as the skin begins to flake. When the eyeliner area begins to exfoliate, do not pick at it! Color is somewhat grayish and will take a few more days to clarify to full color. The pigmented area begins to shrink and soften in size and color over the next few days.

As exfoliation completes, the color will appear a bit frosty; this will clarify in a few days. The color has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance. For the next few days, the color may now be lighter than what the final color will be. The final color begins to stabilize and show through. The color will continue to soften as the healing process completes.
